Nakshatra Creations produces multilingual entertainment, spanning amateur stage dance, theater performances, stand-up comedy, mad-ads, music videos and short films.
Nakshatra Creations provides a unique platform to try out different ideas and discover your creativity in performing arts. Several amateur artists have used this opportunity and have explored different aspects of film making such as photography, videography, editing, cinematography, scripting, lyrics, music composition, background music, boom mic operation, lighting, etc.
Apart from bringing people with diverse interests together, we emphasize the importance of chasing one’s passion, which as we all know has no bounds. With continuous exposure, trials and experience, we believe that one can improve existing skills and produce quality work.

From my childhood, I grew up learning music and dance, traveling across South India to perform. My love for the arts and creative outlet led me to volunteer with Portland Kannada Koota- a cultural organization that encourages the local community to embrace their roots and share their culture with everyone. I volunteered as both Treasurer and President for Portland Kannada Koota in recent years, organized multiple events and hosted many artists.
I believe that art has no borders and is a key component in what holds us together in unity.“

“I’m an art enthusiast, formally trained in Carnatic music and Bharathanatya. Thanks to Portland’s active Indian cultural community, I’ve been able to participate in various dance performances. I’ve been doing semi classical, Bollywood and folk dances from different parts of India. I’ve mentored dances for Kannada Koota functions.“

“I grew up as a performing artist and have performed in several mad-ads, skits and stand-up comedies. Recently, I started to explore short films and music videos. Right now I’m enjoying directing these.
Though I do not have any formal education/training in performance arts, I am blessed to be in sound company of passionate professionals, who keep me motivated to bring different ideas to life!
It’s been fascinating to witness several artists use Nakshatra’s platform to explore their creativity in performance arts. I am confident that this will continue for long due to our belief that everybody is a star!

Nakshatra Creations produces theater, short films and music videos typically involving cost. The incurred cost is due to shooting equipment rentals, lenses, cameras and food for volunteers.
Our work has good reach in local communities. We envision to work on projects covering more languages, so that it can involve diverse group of people.
Nakshatra Creations is an IRS-approved nonprofit with 501(c)(3) tax exemption status. As per section 170, donations can be written off on tax return.
